Jinan held a news conference on March 4 to announce that in 2024, the city will seek to introduce 2,000 major projects with a combined investment of 2.66 trillion yuan ($369.5 billion). At the beginning of 2023, Jinan set a goal of introducing 1,301 major projects with a total investment of 2.4 trillion yuan.
3月4日，济南召开新闻发布会公布信息：2024年共安排重大项目2000个，总投资2.66万亿元。2023年初，济南许下恢宏目标：1301个重大项目，总投资2.4万亿元。今年济南乘势而上，再次大手笔公布总投资2.66万亿元的项目计划。
For two consecutive years, the city has prioritized the introduction of major projects in its efforts to build a robust provincial capital.
连续两年发起“项目攻势”，济南释放出加快强省会建设的强烈信号：实打实抓项目，以项目的大突破实现强省会的大突破。
Jinan has started bolstering project-related efforts since the beginning of this year, with a Jinan delegation making a special trip on Feb 21 to Shanghai to promote investment and hold discussions with Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co, one of the largest domestic suppliers of anti-tumor drugs, surgical drugs, and contrast agents, as well as Aiko Solar, one of the world's major suppliers of photovoltaic cells.
2月21日，山东“新春第一会”召开后不久，济南市委书记刘强专程到上海招商，与国内最大的抗肿瘤药、手术用药和造影剂的供应商江苏恒瑞医药股份有限公司，全球光伏电池的主要供应商之一的上海爱旭新能源股份有限公司，进行座谈交流。
A ceremony was held on Feb 26 to mark the start of work on 73 projects with a total investment of 123.3 billion yuan.
2月26日，2024年春季全省高质量发展重大项目建设现场推进会在济南举行，全市共有73个重大项目参加集中开工，总投资达1233亿元。
The ceremony was held at the venue for the high-efficiency battery component project of Aiko Solar, which has a total investment of 36 billion yuan and is expected to achieve an annual output value of 60 billion yuan, increasing globally-leading high-efficiency solar cell and component production capacity by 30GW. The project is also expected to create more than 10,000 new jobs.
春季全省高质量发展重大项目建设现场推进会主会场所在的爱旭太阳能高效电池组件项目，是爱旭股份布局济南的大手笔，总投资360亿元，可谓体量巨大。项目全部建成达产后，预计年产值达600亿元，新增30GW全球领先的高效太阳能电池及组件产能。同时，新增约1万多个就业岗位。
In addition, Shulan (Jinan) Hospital, which is intended to aid in the transformation of growth drivers in Shandong province and is a key project in Jinan, was officially put into use on Feb 29. It is the largest tertiary hospital in western Jinan, with a planned capacity of 1,800 beds, and will provide international, intelligent, standardized, and high-quality medical services.
2月29日，作为山东省新旧动能转换优选项目、济南市重点项目，树兰（济南）医院正式启用。这是济南西部最大的三甲医院，规划床位1800张，将提供国际化、智能化、标准化、人文化的高品质医疗服务。
This year is a crucial year for Jinan in the promotion of high-quality development with a focus on green and low-carbon initiatives. As a part of these efforts, the capital of Shandong will accelerate the development of new projects this year.
今年是促进经济巩固向好、加快绿色低碳高质量发展的关键一年，也是实施“十四五”规划、推进强省会建设的关键一年。在去年“项目突破年”的基础上，济南将今年工作主题确定为“项目深化年”, 坚定“项目为王”理念，在项目谋划、落地、建设、见效、服务等五个环节上做到“三看三深化”，为省会高质量发展提供强力支撑。
